Dear SDSA MeMbers,
This is to give you NOTICE that there will be a Candidate Forum and Endorsement Meeting on Monday, July 16, 2018 beginning at 6:30 pm and ending at 8:00 pm at Luther’s Café, 1503 N. Main Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212.
The purpose of this meeting is to hear from candidates who have filed for the July 31 Special Election for State Senator, District 19.
Additionally, we will be finalizing our list of endorsements for the November General Election by revisiting several races from the March Primary and May Primary Runoff in which our endorsed candidate lost and the winner otherwise qualified for our endorsement consideration. We also have some non-endorsed candidates to reconsider. The races include U.S. Representative, District 21; Commissioner for the General Land Office; Railroad Commissioner; State Representative, District 116; State Representative, District 117; State Representative, District 118; District Judge, 226th Judicial District; Judge, County Court at Law No. 15; District Clerk; and County Clerk.
The candidates for the State Senator, District 19 Special Election have been invited to attend our Forum and to complete and submit a candidate questionnaire. After we hear from all the candidates, SDSA members will caucus to vote on all the endorsements.
To be eligible to vote on these endorsements, a member must be a member in good standing as defined in Article IV, Section 1 of the SDSA Bylaws and have been a member for at least 30 days prior to the endorsement meeting (new members must have joined no later than December 28, 2013). Lapsed members, whose dues are less than a year in arrears, may renew their membership at the time of the endorsement meeting and will be eligible to vote.

Early voting for the State Senator, District 19 Special Election begins on Monday, July 16 and ends on Friday, July 27. Election Day is Tuesday, July 31.
